Non-Profits and Community Groups Invited to Apply for JLWB Service Project

Area non-profit organizations and community groups are invited to submit a Request for Proposal (RFP) to Junior Leadership Wilkes-Barre for implementation as a class Community Impact Project. Junior Leadership Wilkes-Barre will select up to eight (8) projects for the incoming class to work on throughout the program year (September 2019 through April 2020).

For nonprofit organizations and community groups, this invitation to submit a RFP presents an opportunity to use the services and commitment of a talented team of high school juniors. The project group, consisting of 8 to 10 high school juniors representing school districts throughout Luzerne County, dedicates their Junior Leadership program year to the design and execution of this project.

Past projects include: a supply drive and fundraiser for the Domestic Violence Service Center to provide household items to victims of domestic violence; maintenance, preparation and fundraising through a 3×3 basketball tournament to build an outdoor classroom at the Wyoming Valley Children’s Association;  dressing room renovations benefitting the Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre; Bark in the Park, a 5K benefitting the SPCA of Luzerne County; Paws for a Cause, a dog walk benefitting Blue Chip Animal Farms and many others.

Projects must have a reasonable scope and budget and cannot include capital campaigns or raising large sums of money. They should be completed between the time frame of October, 2019 and April, 2020. Junior Leadership participants are restricted to raising no more than $3,000.00/project. In-Kind donations are not considered within that restriction.  The Class of 2020 will choose their projects in October 2019, but there is no guarantee your RFP will be chosen.

Please find the application to submit your proposal here.
